LVE / Resource Usage Alert Print

  • 1

At Wildkat we use CloudLinux to improve the stability on our servers. Each customer is limited in a secure environment called a Lightweight Virtual Environment (LVE), a kernel technology that has been invented by CloudLinux.

The reason we use this tech is because the most common cause of downtime is a single account slowing down other accounts on the server. If one customer is using a lot of shared resources then it would usually cause issues for other websites and services on the same server. With CloudLinux this is prevented as all customers on the server are isolated from each other and all have their own resource usage limits.

When an account hits the LVE limits associated to it then a snapshot is generated so you can see which processes were responsible for your website hitting the limits. These can be seen from the Resource Usage section in cPanel.

We also send alerts when an account hits the limits so you'll be informed if your account has performance issues, code issues or potential malware.

There are options to upgrade your account to have more resources if needed however most of the time we find you might be best off on a VPS. Please contact our support team for advice if you regularly hit your limits.
